Customization

Home Docs Pravda Customization

Customizing the theme is a crucial and extensive topic, so we recommend reviewing it carefully. To make things easier, we’ve divided the customization areas into three main categories, based on where and how the settings are applied:

  • Content & Widgets. Content layout and widget areas are primarily managed via Elementor, with some additional controls available through the native Sidebar Widgets panel. You can learn more about this in the dedicated “Widgets” section of the documentation. We won’t cover this part here in detail.
  • Local Settings. These are context-specific options that vary depending on the content type. They are managed through custom fields, and usually appear directly within the editing screen. Examples include:
    • Page header settings (for individual pages)
    • Social media links (for author profiles)
    • Category images, and more
All local settings are explained in their corresponding sections throughout this documentation.
  • Global Theme Settings. These include layout controls, interface elements, navigation options, blog display settings, and other global configurations. All of these are managed through the Customizer. In the following section, we’ll focus specifically on the Customizer and walk through its structure and available options in detail.
Accessing the Customizer

To ensure the Customizer and all its options function correctly, you must have the Kirki plugin installed and activated. Kirki is the framework used to build the majority of theme options in the Customizer. If you don’t see the Theme Options tabs inside the Customizer, the first thing to check is whether the Kirki plugin is active. Once the plugin is active, accessing the Customizer is simple:

  • Navigate to your website from the admin panel and click the Customize button in the admin bar, or
  • Go to Appearance → Customize from the WordPress dashboard.

This will open the Customizer interface where you can begin adjusting your theme’s global settings.

Now, let’s take a closer look at the settings themselves. All options are grouped into categories based on their purpose. For example global settings can be found under the General tab, navigation settings under Navigation, footer settings under Footer, and so on. The structure is designed to be as intuitive as possible.

If you ever want to reset the settings to their default state (as they were after the demo import), simply go to the General tab and click the Reset Settings button at the bottom.
